Geisel Privathotels is an association of Munich hotels and high-class gastronomy. Owner-managed by the three brothers Carl, Michael and Stephan Geisel, you will immerse into a familiar but highly innovative and modern environment for personal development. 

During your apprenticeship, we offer you a broad spectrum – from an urban city hotel to a renowned wine restaurant, to an exclusive luxury residence. Here you will find the best conditions for your start into professional life. 


Experienced specialists and trainers certified by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) are on hand in all departments to offer you advice and support. Well over 2,000 successfully completed apprenticeships and the outstanding results of our apprentices in competitions speak for the high quality of our training.

The Geisel family can look back on over 100 years of experience in the hospitality and gastronomy industry. The three brothers Carl, Michael and Stephan Geisel carry on this proud tradition in the fourth generation. Without losing sight of history, new impulses are continuously set, and exciting projects are realized. 

Advanced training 

In addition to everything taught to you in the various departments, you have the opportunity to take part in varied training courses and seminars offered by our department managers and external partners.

The apprenticeship lasts 2.5 or 3 years and starts in February or August/September. We supplement practical training with a wide range of internal theoretical training courses.

Apprenticeship as hotel specialist or restaurant specialist 

Whether you are interested in the hotel or restaurant business, we offer you a wide range of training in the top hotel business. You will get to know the different areas of our Munich hotels in detail. 

During your apprenticeship as hotel specialist, you will get out of your way to make travelers feel at home with us. Whether in housekeeping, at the reception desk or in the restaurant: under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn everything you need to know to become a specialist in the hotel industry. 

During your apprenticeship as restaurant specialist, you will focus on learning service techniques in our varied establishments. You will also make a detour into the kitchen to learn how to prepare the delicacies that you will later serve to our guests. 

What you should bring with you: 

  • Ideally, initial experience through internships or part-time jobs 
  • Pleasure in contact with people 
  • Creativity and willingness to work hard 
  • Secondary school certificate or A-levels are an advantage 
  • Good knowledge of German and English

Apprenticeship as a chef 

Our apprenticeship as a chef will mainly take place in our Vinothek by Geisel. Through assignments in the kitchens of the hotels, you will have the opportunity to get to know the entire culinary range of Geisel Privathotels. 

During your training at one of our hotels, you will also get to know not only the à la carte cuisine, but also the breakfast and banquet business. In this way, you will be optimally prepared for your career after your apprenticeship.
